Four of the homes are located next to the historic embassy area of Riga, with the downtown nearby. 96 apartments, ranging from one to five rooms, with an area of 60 to 160 m², are housed in “Viesturdārza mājas”. The homes boast the use of natural materials, shield parquet floors, wooden windows and doors.
The buildings are oriented in such a way to ensure the living premises with better lighting. The glass-enclosed loggias of the homes face Viesturdārzs and the city historic centre. The facades are painted in light colours, glass surfaces and stone panelling are used in the external finish of the building at the first floor level.
”Viesturdārza mājas”, having been put into service in 2006, were awarded the first place at the Latvian Builders Association’s Show 2006, The Best Building of the Year, in the category of Newly Erected Building.
